What is an IPC Link Practitioner ?
The role involves "championing the cause" in Infection Prevention and Control, within their organisation or department.
We have trained hundreds of IPC link practitioners, champions and officers across the UK, which has increased significantly since the COVID-19 pandemic.
An IPC link practitioner requires good leadership skills and effective communication. They are likely to educate colleagues and patients (where applicable) and to be the link between policy, guidance and legislation in Infection Control :
- Explain and demonstrate the importance of Hand Hygiene and how to encourage best practice in others
- Recognise the audit process and cycle, prepare reports and action plans, to prioritise risk
- Identify the importance of valid infection control policy and procedures
- Identify the relevant infection prevention and control legislation, guidance and minimum standards
Our 12 week IPC Link Practitioner Programme will help you build internal skills and competence in IPC , for whichever area of care you are in.
